Fuel & Fable was founded on our love of great-tasting specialty coffee, the stories it creates, and a shared passion for all things automotive. What started as a small roastery has grown into something much bigger — a space to connect people, fuel adventures, and celebrate life’s moments over a great cup.

Fuel & Fable reflects years of experience in both the specialty coffee and automotive industries. Before founding the business our Owner Matt worked as a racing instructor and went on to open the very first specialty coffee shop in Bedfordshire — a venture that grew into an award-winning, Icelandic-inspired café. He then founded his own roastery to source and roast direct-trade beans from some of the world’s best farms, staying true to their values of quality, ethics, and sustainability.

Alongside the roastery, He has worked as a Barista Trainer and consultant, supporting businesses and individuals across the industry. He has also worked with prisoners, using coffee to teach both barista and soft skills, helping to rehabilitate and offer opportunities for new beginnings.

In 2024, Fuel & Fable was proudly relocated to the New Forest, To continue the journey blending family life with their passion for coffee.

Now, with the opening of the very first Fuel & Fable café in Christchurch, Dorset, our vision comes to life. More than just a coffee shop, it’s a hub for community, storytelling, and events — where automotive and moto culture meet specialty coffee, and where everyone is welcome to share in the journey.
